　今日は田植えを行いました。昨年同様雨の降る中でしたが，無事に終えることができました。今年度は山海留学生が多い関係で２人のみでの実施となりましたが初めて行う職員も多く良い経験になりました。７月に予定されている稲刈りに向けてしっかりと準備を進めていきたいと思います。

Today we planted our rice crop for the year. Just like last year, we planted in the rain. Luckily it wasn't raining very much, so the planting went well. Since we have a lot of study abroad students this year, only two of our students were able to participate today. This was the first time for many of our teachers to plant rice on the island, turning out to be a great experience for them, too. We will watch over this year's crop well, in preparation for our harvest in July.

　今日のお昼に口之島出身でフェリーとしまを４１年間支えてくださった，日高さんのセレモニーが行われました。多くの島民の方々も港に足を運んでくださり素晴らしいセレモニーになったのではないでしょうか。長い間本当にありがとうございました。

　午後からは，田植えの準備を行いました。島民のＳさんにもお手伝いをしていただき準備をすることができました。畑にも耕運をかけていただきありがとうございました。

Today the island held a retirement ceremony for Mr. Hidaka, a Kuchinoshima native, who has been working on the ferry for forty-one years. Many villagers came out to show their gratitude for Mr. Hidaka. Thank you for your long service.

In the afternoon, we prepared the rice field for planting. Thanks to the help of one of the villagers, we were able to get the field ready for planting! Thank you very much for your help!

十島村では，コロナウイルス感染症防止のために，村営船「フェリーとしま２」に乗船する場合には，鹿児島港にて２週間分の「健康チェック表」の提示と当日の検温をお願いしています。
　この度の人事異動で十島村に赴任することになった先生とその家族の皆さんは，異動が分かった時点から健康チェックを行ってください。
　なお，赴任の時にお手伝い等で島に行かれる方も同様にしていただくことになります。コロナ禍の中です。ご協力をお願いいたします。「健康チェック表」は，十島村ホームページからダウンロードしてください。

　今日は，転出児童生徒・職員の見送り式がありました。本日は転出する４名の児童生徒と１名の園児を紹介したいと思います。

まずは中学２年のＨくん。本校には今年度の２学期途中から来てくれました。最上学年として多くの場面でみんなを引っ張ってくれました。

　次はくちっこ園のＴくん。島民の方からは，「来たときはベビーカーに乗っていたのに，もうこんなに大きくなったの？」と驚かれるほど体も心も大きくなりました。４月からは１年生。新しい場所での活躍を楽しみにしています。

　次は３年生のＴさん。何事にも物怖じせず「猪突猛進」という言葉を体現したような児童でした。次の学校でも，その良さを活かしてくれることを期待しています。

　次は４年生のＭくん。３・４年生のリーダー的な立場としてクラスを盛り上げてくれました。また，マラソン大会では上学年にも負けない力強い走りを見せてくれました。４月からも周りの人たちと切磋琢磨し，今以上に色んな能力を高めていってほしいと思います。

　最後は６年生のＹさん。今年度は小学部だけでなく，学校の中心として多くの場面で活躍してくれました。４月からは中学生として，持ち前の明るさと笑顔を武器に活躍してくれることを楽しみにしています。

　３月は別れの季節。名残惜しい気持ちもありますが，４月からはお互いに新しい生活が始まります。今までの大切な思い出を胸に刻み，次のステージへと向かいましょう。

　お互い大きく成長して，再会できることを楽しみにしています。たくさんの想い出を本当にありがとう。いってらっしゃい！

　昨年から作り始めていた新しい売店がつい先日完成しました。口之島にはコンビニやスーパーは無く，買い物ができるところはこの売店のみです。まもなくガソリンスタンドもオープンする予定です。

The new island shop has finally opened, after being in construction since last year. Since there are no convenience stores on our island, the island shop is the only place to do any kind of shopping here. And we got to say, the new store is super stylish! In addition to the store, the gas station next to the island shop will be opening soon as well. There is no doubt that these two new locations will improve the lives of everyone on the island!

　今日は，令和２年度の「修了式」「お別れ式」「離任式」がありました。

　修了式のあいさつでは転出する小学部のＴさんとＭくん，中学部のＨくんが発表してくれました。読書の冊数や体育の授業でできるようになったこと，受験に向けての抱負などを話してくれました。

　「お別れ式」では，転出する全４名の児童生徒があいさつをしてくれました。「離任式」では転出される３名の職員があいさつをしてくれました。校長先生と中学部のＨ先生は３年間、小学部のＨ先生は５年間本校に勤めてくださいました。

　来年度もよりよい学校にしていけるようみんなで力を合わせて取り組んでいきたいと思います。

　今日は，今年度最後の給食がありました。調理員のＴさんと補助員のＡさんが毎日おいしい給食をみんなのために作ってくれました。本校はパンも自校式で作っており，山海留学生や初めて本校で給食を食べる職員はすごくおいしいとびっくりしています。来年度もおいしい給食を楽しみにしています。

　また２年生のＫくんのお誕生日給食でした。４月からは３年生として今年度にも増して活躍してくれることを楽しみにしています。

Today was our last day of school lunch for this school year. We are grateful to the cooking staff that makes our delicious school lunches that keep us fueled and focused every day. Our new students and staff this year were very surprised at how delicious our school lunch is. We are all excited for next year's lunches.

In addition, the elementary school celebrated our second grader's birthday during lunch. We are all excited to see them grow and learn more as a third grader starting in April.

今日は，令和２年度の卒業式がありました。今年度の卒業生は，６年生１名でした。式は今年度も新型コロナウイルス対策のため時間短縮や出席者を制限した形で行いました。

　今年度の卒業生Ｙさんは，本校で５年間の小学校生活を送りました。今年度は，小学部最高学年としてみんなをまとめてくれました。また，金管のリーダとして特に今年度本校に来た児童生徒に対して優しく丁寧に教えてくれました。運動会では紅組として，団長のＨくんと一緒にチームをまとめあげてくれました。授業面では，何事にも全力で挑戦する姿が見られました。特に跳び箱となわとびは印象的でした。閉脚跳びや３重跳びと難しい技に果敢に挑戦し，練習を重ね成功させることができました。なわとび大会では見事に１０分間を跳びきることができました。

　４月から中学校という新しいステージに立つＹさんへ。持ち前の明るさと挑戦する心を忘れずに，大いに活躍してくれることを祈っています。たくさんの元気と勇気をありがとう。卒業おめでとう。

Today we had our graduation ceremony. We had one student graduating from elementary school. Due to Covid-19 spread prevention measures, just like last year, we had a shorter, more limited ceremony. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful, and emotional ceremony.

Our graduating student has lived on Kuchinoshima, and attended our island's elementary school for five years. They have set a great example for the elementary school students, and also lead the brass band to great performances this year. As part of the red team for this year's Sports Day, they helped the team leader bring the team together. In class, and during school events, they were always trying their best, especially during this year's jump rope competition. Not only did they showcase difficult jump rope tricks, they also jumped for the full ten minutes in the stamina event.

We would like to send a message to the grad, who is about to commence a new chapter in their life: We wish you the best of luck in middle school, and beyond. Please continue being as kind, as cheerful, ready for any challenge as you have been in elementary school. Thank you for everything. Congratulations on graduating from elementary school.

　今日の４時間目に２年生は，ＺＯＯＭを使って大阪の小学校と合同授業を行いました。「楽しかったよ２年生」の単元での発表を行いました。久しぶりの再会ということもありお互いにたくさんの質問や意見交換をすることができました。

　また，口之島の紹介も行い大阪の子どもたちも真剣になって話を聞いてくれました。２年生のＫくんもみんなの前で堂々と素晴らしい発表をしてくれました。

　今回は一緒に授業をしていただきありがとうございました。口之島にぜひ遊びにきてください。待ってます。

Today during fourth period, our second grader had a joint class with their former elementary school class in Osaka via Zoom. It had been a while since they had seen their former classmates, so it gave them a good chance to interact with each other. We also gave a short introduction of Kuchinoshima to the students, and they were very interested in the subject. Our second grader then gave a wonderful presentation to the class. We would like to thank the class from Osaka for today's lesson. It was very fun, and we hope to have the chance to have class together again sometime.

　クラブ活動の時間に動画作りをしました。今回は３グループに分かれ，「口之島ニュース」というテーマで行いました。各グループ脚本から演技まで自分たちで行い撮影した動画を各グループの先生に教えてもらいながら編集を行いました。３時間をかけて撮影・編集・発表と行いましたが各グループともとてもおもしろい作品ができあがったと思います。

During their club time, the elementary school students made video projects. They were split up into three groups, and the theme for the videos was "Kuchinoshima News." Each group made their videos from scratch, from the script to the editing, with the help of one of the teachers. They only had three hours, but their videos were great! Good job everyone!

　今日の３時間目に小中合同体育がありました。今は「サッカー」を行っています。小中合同の体育ということで発達段階等を考慮して，「無敵ゾーン」や「助っ人ゾーン」などを作ったり，ゴールを工夫するなどして，みんながボールに触れ，誰もが活躍できるチャンスのある場作りを心がけています。

　今日もスーパープレーが多くうまれました。２年生のＫくんはボールを怖がることなくヘディングでシュートを決めました。３年生のＴさんは，キーパーとして果敢にボールに飛び込んでいました。その他にもたくさんのスーパープレーがあり，盛り上がった授業になりました。

Today for third period, all the students had P.E. class together. Today they played soccer. We took into consideration all the different grade levels, and created different zones and rules to balance out the playing field.

There were many big plays during today's matches. For example, our second grader, not fearing the ball at all, took many headed goal shots. And one of our third graders, as goalkeeper, was determined to not let one through, diving in to grab the ball many times. We had many exciting matches today!

　１４日（日）にくちっこ園の卒園式がありました。今年度の卒園生はＴくん１名でした。Ｔくんはくちっこ園の活動だけでなく，多くの学校行事に積極的に参加してくれました。

　思えば今年度の１学期の頃は，くちっこ園の先生方のそばで体育の授業を見学したり，どこか恥ずかしそうな様子であいさつをしていました。

　しかし，今では体育の授業も自分から積極的に参加をし，始めや終わりは大きな声であいさつをしているのが印象的です。マラソン大会やなわとび大会では小学生にも負けないパフォーマンスを披露してくれました。

　授業では，特に低学年クラスと多く交流する時間を作って頂きました。「英語」・「遠足」「豆まき」などたくさんの思い出を作ることができました。

　４月からは，小学生Ｔくんとして元気な姿を見せてくれることを楽しみにしています。

On Sunday, the 14^th our island's preschool held its graduation ceremony for preschooler T. They were very active, in the preschool events, and in the school events this year. At first, they were a bit shy, but after some time they were actively taking part, doing their best in all the activities. They even participated in big school events like the marathon and jump roping events. Throughout this year, they were able to make many good memories. We are excited to see what they accomplish when they start elementary school this April.

新型コロナウイルス対策のため，時間・人数制限を行って挙行しています。

　今日は，今年度最後のエイサーがありました。今年度は，「ミルクムナリ」と「笑顔のまんま」を年間を通して練習をしました。３学期から本校に来た児童生徒も短期間でしたが，一生懸命練習をしてきました。

　多くの方にも見て頂くことができて，よい発表会になったかと思います。

　今日の朝活動は,一輪車でした。４月に職員で作った一輪車の補助棒を島民のＳさんにお願いをして,補強をしていただきました。コンクリートや専用の道具を使って本格的に作り直していただきました。今年度から,新しく本校に来た児童生徒も多くいるので,練習するにはとても助かる道具をつくっていただきました。Ｓさんありがとうございました。

　５時間目には,卒業式の練習がありました。早いもので,卒業式まで２週間を切りました。素晴らしい卒業式になるようみんなで協力していきましょう。

Today, for their morning exercise, our students practiced riding unicycles. One of the villagers fixed up, and improved the unicycle training bars the teachers had made last April. Using concrete, they made the bars a lot more stable than they were before. There are a few students who have just come to the island, and might have more coming in the future, so we hope these new training bars will help them master riding a unicycle. We would like to thank you very much for your aid, Villager S.

Today during fifth period, we held a practice for our graduation ceremony. It is coming up quickly, with only two more weeks left. Everyone is doing their best to ensure that it will be a wonderful ceremony for our graduating student.

また今日は３月１１日。東日本大震災から１０年です。本校も１４時４６分に黙祷を捧げました。

　今日は中学１年のＹさんの誕生日でした。給食の時間に中学部のみんなでお祝いをしました。どんなことにも全力で取り組むＹさん。また,小学部の児童やくちっこ園の園児からも絶大の信頼をされています。来年度も多くの場面で活躍してくれることを楽しみにしています。

Today it was seventh grader, student Y's birthday. During lunch, everyone wished them a happy birthday. This student is always trying their best in everything they do. They are trusted by all the middle schoolers, the elementary school students, and the preschoolers as well. We are excited to see everything they accomplish in this new chapter of their life.

　朝は,小中別朝会がありました。小学２年生のＫくんが進行をしてくれました。今日は「説明ゲーム」を行いました。３人１組の３チームに分かれて,出されたお題に対してその言葉を使わずに答えてもらうというゲームです。「カレーライス」などの食べ物や,みんなの知っているアニメなどのお題を一生懸命伝えようとしていました。今年度最後の小中別朝会でしたが,楽しくゲームをすることができました。

Today our school held separate morning assemblies. For the elementary school one, our students played a game of charades. They split up into teams of three, and were given topics like curry and rice, and anime they knew to explain to their teammates, all without using words. Our students tried their best to convey the topics to their teammates. This was our last morning assembly of the school year, and our students really seemed to have enjoyed themselves.

　今日の５時間目に,なわとび大会がありました。今日までに朝活動や休み時間,体育の時間を使って毎日のように練習してきました。まずは,持久跳びを行いました。小学４年のＭくん,Ｈさん,小学６年のＹさんが見事に制限いっぱいの１０分間を跳び続けることができました。全体的にも練習のときよりも記録を伸ばすことができました。

　次に８の字跳びをしました。両チームともリハーサルの時よりも,記録を伸ばすことができました。特に白組は早いテンポで会場を驚かせていました。最後の競技は,全員跳びでした。ここで紅組が８２回という大ジャンプを見せてくれました。リハーサルに続き本番でも新記録を出しました。

　最後は,１人ずつ技の発表を行いました。４０回のジャンプの中に,自分でアレンジした技を組み込むというものでしたが,今まで練習してきた技を一生懸命披露してくれました。

　今年度の結果は,紅組の勝利でした。両チームとも今日の大会に向けて必死に練習してきた成果を出せたのではないかなと思います。大会は今日で終わりますが,これからもなわとびの練習を続けていきたいと思います。

先日５日（金）にお別れ遠足がありました。行く途中で雨が降ってきたので,引き返すことになるかも？という心配がありましたが,みんなの想いが通じたようでなんとか天気も持ちこたえてくれました。

　お別れ遠足では,児童生徒会を中心にさまざまなレクを考えてくれ楽しむことができました。またくちっこ園の方々にも参加して頂き思い出に残るお別れ遠足になったと思います。

　今年度はくちっこ園が卒園児１名,小学校卒業生が１名です。残りわずかのくちっこ生活,小学校生活を楽しんでほしいと思います。

This past Friday our school has its field trip. On the way to our destination, it began to rain, and everyone thought to themselves, "Will the trip be canceled?" But luckily the rainy weather cleared up, and we were able to enjoy our field trip. After arriving at our destination, our students enjoyed the recreations they had planned for the day. The preschoolers also joined in on the fun as well. We think that it was a very memorable field trip for everyone.

This year we have a graduating preschooler, and a graduating elementary school student. We hope that they enjoy their remaining time in preschool and in elementary school.

　今日の３時間目の体育の時間に来週の火曜日に行われる,なわとび大会の予行がありました。持久跳び,８の字跳び,全員跳びを本番のように得点化して行いました。今回は白組が勝利しました。白組は特に持久跳びで得点を多く取ることができました。また,８の字跳びでもリズムよくたくさん跳ぶことができていました。紅組も今日は負けてしまったものの全員跳びでは新記録の５０回を記録することができました。本番に向けて残り少ない練習に一生懸命取り組んでいきたいと思います。

　また,今日は小学３年生のＴさんの誕生日でした。いただきますの前にみんなでお祝いをしました。３年生ですがクラスの中心としてこれからも全体を引っ張っていってほしいと思います。

Today our students had a practice run for our jump rope competition that is scheduled for next week. Our students practiced the various events: the stamina event, the figure 8 jump in event, and the team jump rope event, and were given score based on their performances. It is a team competition, and for today's practice run, the white team won. They scored a lot of points in the stamina event. And in the figure 8 jump in event, they kept a strong rhythm, and scored the most jumps. Despite losing in overall points, the red team did come out on top in the team jump event with an impressive fifty jumps. We hope our students make the most out of the few practices they have left.

Today was student T's birthday. Before digging into their lunch, the elementary school students wished them a happy birthday. Even though they are only a third grader, we hope they continue setting a good example for the other students.

　悪天候の影響で,フェリーが約１週間欠航となりました。また,ネットワークが繋がらず,数日間ブログの更新をすることができませんでした。

　月曜日に小学部はクラブ活動の時間に「逃走中」を行いました。２回戦行い,１回戦は児童対児童で行い２回戦は先生がハンターとなり,行いました。先生たちも全力で追いかけましたが,児童たちの協力プレーが上回り逃げ切ることができました。

　今年度のクラブ活動も残りわずかですが,楽しく取り組んでいきたいと思います。

Due to bad weather, Ferry Toshima 2 couldn't run for a week. On top of that, our island lost internet service, so we couldn't post to our school blog.

On Monday, the elementary school held a game of "Run for the Money" for their club activity. There were two rounds: for the first round, it was students versus students, and for the second round, the teachers played the hunters. Even though the teachers chased the students at full speed, they pulled off great team work, and managed to escape.

There are only a few more club activity sessions left for the year, but we will do our best to enjoy every last one.
