　今日は，「タモトユリタイム」で各委員会からの反省や，３月の目標発表を行いました。今年度も残り１ヵ月です。気持ちよく来年度を迎えられるように全員で協力をしていきましょう。

　口之島には，いくつもの名所があります。最近その周辺には看板が立ちました。みなさんここがどこだか分かりますか。他にも看板を立てる予定があるそうです。みなさん探してみましょう！

Today the students had a Tamotoyuri Student Council meeting. Each committee presented their reflections for this month, and their goals for next month. We hope they work hard to end the school year strong.

Here on Kuchinoshima, there are many famous locations. Recently signs have been placed at these locations. Can you guess these places?

　今日の５時間目に，「縄跳び大会」の予行を行いました。まずは持久跳びを行いました。持久跳びは３学期から練習を重ねてきた成果もあり，多くの児童生徒が記録を伸ばしています。今日は中でも，リーダーの４年生Kさんが上限の１０分に残り数秒と，自己記録を更新しました。

　３年生のKさん率いるもう１つのチームは，全員跳びで１００回を越える大ジャンプを見せてくれました。次は，いよいよ本番です。本番では保護者の方々も観覧してくださいます。熱い戦いを見せられるように，最後の準備をすすめていきましょう。

Today during fifth period, we held a rehearsal for next week's Jump Rope Event. The first event was the stamina one. After practicing all semester long, many students were able to set long records. One student almost made it to ten minutes in the stamina event, breaking their previous record. In the team jump, one team broke one hundred jumps! It was an exciting rehearsal, and we can't wait to see what the outcomes are come next week!

　今日の３時間目に，１回目の「卒業式練習」を行いました。今日は最初ということで，礼法を学んだ後に全体の流れの確認を行いました。今年度は小学部２名・中学部２名の卒業生が在籍しています。最後の締めくくりとして，素晴らしい卒業式を全員で作り上げていきましょう。

Today during third period, we had our first practice for the graduation ceremony. Since it was the first practice, the students learned the graduation ceremony etiquette, and then went over the ceremony's procedure. We have four students graduating this year. We hope to make a wonderful graduation ceremony for these students.

　今日の昼休みは，来週に予定されている「なわとび大会」の練習がありました。大会まで残り１週間なので，大会の準備に一生懸命取り組んでいます。

Today our students practiced for the upcoming jump rope event during their lunch recess. With only one more week to go, they are doing their best to be prepared for the competition.

　今日小学５・６年生の外国語の授業で自己紹介を行いました。発表とともにプロフィールカードも作りました。カードには、自画像や好きなものなどのイラストを描いたり，英文も書いたりしました。みんなが素敵なカード作りと素晴らしい発表ができました。

Today in the fifth and sixth grade English class, everyone presented self-introductions. To go along with their presentations, they also made profile cards. On the card, they drew their self-portrait, favorite things and such, and also wrote their English self-intro. Everyone made wonderful presentations, and wonderful profile cards.

　５時間目の音楽の合同練習では，卒業式に向けて「旅立ちの日に」と「My Home」の練習を行いました。

　「My Home」は，口之島の卒業生が作った口之島オリジナルの素敵な曲です。みんな，息継ぎの場所に気をつけながら練習を頑張っています。

　「旅立ちの日に」は，ソプラノ・アルト・テノールの３つのパートに分かれ，三部合唱を行います。６年生のＫ君は，「歌っている時，全てのパートの音が聞こえるため，音をとることが難しかったけれど，つられないようにアルトの音に集中して頑張りました。」と，感想を話してくれました。卒業式ではそれぞれの思いを歌にのせて，体育館に歌声を響かせたいです。

Today during fifth period, our students practiced singing two of the songs for the graduation ceremony. 'My Home' is a lovely song composed by a previous graduate of our school, and 'Tabidachi No Hi Ni' is a song sung in a three-part chorus. We hope to give a wonderful performance during the graduation ceremony.

　昨日の５・６時間目に,５・６年生は調理実習を行いました。今回は,「かっぱ焼き」と「田芋もち」を作りました。回数を重ねるごとに手際が良くなってきているなと感じました。今回も全員で協力して,おいしいものを作ることができました。

　また,昨日から中学生は学年末テストが始まりました。３日間で９教科というハードな日程ですが,明日残り１日悔いのないよう取り組んでいきましょう。

Yesterday, the fifth and sixth graders cooked in their home economics class. For this class, they made two dishes using two different kinds of potatoes. After much practice in previous lessons, they felt confident going into this lesson. They all worked together, and made some delicious treats!

In addition, the junior high school students have begun taking their finals. They're taking nine tests over three days. With one day left, we hope our students are working hard to get the best scores they can.

　今日の２・３時間目に小学５・６年生はくちっこ園でのお店屋さんごっこの活動に参加しました。まず小学生とくちっこ園の子どもたちは売るための素敵な商品を作りました。作ってから，お店屋さんを開きました！お寿司屋さん，パン屋さん，お弁当屋さん，そしてタピオカ屋さんもありました。くちっこ園の子どもたちは全部のお店屋さんを訪れて，小学生から食べ物を買いました。みんな売ったり買ったりと,盛り上がりました。

今日はバレンタインということで旧職員の方からお菓子のプレゼントを頂きました。ありがとうございます！

Today the fifth and sixth graders went to the island's preschool to play pretend shopping with the preschool students. First the students made items to sell. Then they opened up shop! There was a sushi restaurant, a bakery, bento shop, and even a boba shop! Then the preschool students took turns going around buying food from the elementary school students. All of the students had a wonderful time playing pretending shopping.

　今日は,今年度最後の「トカラ集会」がありました。今回の担当校は,口之島が行いました。既習事項や,十島についての問題を「トカラシックスリーグ」と題して行いました。各学級や学年に分かれて計４問を出しました。全島協力しての問題ということで,盛り上がってできたのではないでしょうか。また来年度,元気にお会いできることを楽しみにしています。

The last Toshima Village school assembly of the school year was held today. For today's assembly, our school was in charge. We quizzed the village's students on things they previously learned, and about Kuchinoshima. Since all the islands had to work together to answer the questions, we'd like to think that it made for an interesting assembly! We can't wait to meet everyone through these assemblies again next year!

　今日の３時間目の学活の時間に小学生は土曜日に予定している,「トカラ集会」の練習を行いました。今回で今年度最後のトカラ集会となります。最後にふさわしく盛り上がった会にできるように,全員で話合い内容を決めました。本番ではみんなで楽しいトカラ集会にしていきたいと思います。

Since our school is in charge of this Saturday's Tokara Village school assembly, our elementary school students prepared for it today during third period. This is the last village school assembly of the school year. We hope to close out the year with an exciting one. Please look forward to our presentation!

　今日の１校時に卒業式に向けた,全校音楽を今年度初めて行いました。今日はパートごとに分かれて,「旅立ちの日に」の練習を行いました。今年度は現在,小学部２名,中学部２名の卒業生が在籍しています。素晴らしい卒業式にできるようにしっかりと合唱の練習に励んでいきたいと思います。

Today our students practiced singing in preparation for this year's graduation ceremony. For today's practice, the students worked on 'Tabidachi No Hi Ni.' This year, two students will be graduating from elementary school, and two from junior high school. We plan to work together to create a wonderful graduation ceremony for the graduates.

　今日のお昼に,各チームのキャプテンが中心となって「なわとび大会」の練習を行いました。今回は３年生のKさん,４年生のKさんが各チームのキャプテンとなりました。残り１ヵ月の練習期間を有意義なものにして,本番に臨んでほしいと思います。

Today during their lunch recess, the students split up in their teams, and practiced for the upcoming Jump Rope Event. For this year's event, the third grader and the fourth grader are captains for their teams. There is only one month left until the event, so we hope both teams use this time well, and practice very hard for it.

　４日（金）の５・６時間目に小学部はクラブ活動で実験を行いました。今回は,スライムとスーパーボールの製作に挑戦をしました。事前に調べ,何が必要か,どのように進めればよいのかを考え取り組みました。全員が楽しんで取り組む事ができたのではないでしょうか。

On February fourth, the elementary school had Activity Time during fifth and sixth period. This time they challenged making slime and bouncy balls. In preparation for this, they thought about what they needed, and the procedure. And on the day of, our students really enjoyed making both the slime and the bouncy balls.

　今日の昼の活動の際に,「タモトユリタイム」がありました。先月の反省と,今月の目標を各委員会から発表してもらいました。今年度も早いもので残り２ヶ月を切りました。それぞれが改めて責任感を持ち,よりよい学校にしていきたいと思います。また,３時間目の体育の時間に決めた「なわとび大会」のチーム決めの発表がありました。来月の本番に向けてこれからチーム練習にも励んでいきたいと思います。

Today the students held a Tamotoyuri Committee meeting. Each committee presented their reflections of the last month, and their goals for this month. With only two months left, we hope our students keep up with their responsibilities, and work towards making a better school. In addition, the teams for the Jump Rope Event were announced at the meeting. We hope both team practice hard for the Jump Rope Event.

　今日の朝,小中別朝会が行われました。小学部は体育館で都道府県かるたを行いました。今回のカードは,前より大きくて，見やすいものでした。小学生は都道府県をよく覚えていました。社会の時間に県の形のカードで学習を繰り返した成果もあり,見つけるのが早かったです。今回の優勝はＫさんでした。

　２時間目の社会の時間に５年生は「情報を生かす産業」について,自分で調べたことを発表しました。一人ひとりが丁寧にまとめ,しっかりと発表することができました。

Today for their morning assembly, the elementary school students played a game of karuta using Japan's Prefectures. This time the cards they used were much larger, making it a lot easier to see the shapes on the cards. The students really have their prefectures memorized, especially the third and fourth graders. The winner of today's game was student K.

During second period, the fifth graders gave presentations. They were able to organize the information they looked up themselves very well, and made great presentations.
